The total fixed fee is £2,000. That includes the venue research, original writing, production materials and six professional actors. In addition, the hotel provides dinner, overnight accommodation and breakfast for the cast, together with complimentary parking and a private changing or preparation area. All cast-hospitality arrangements are agreed before you book.

Yes. Once a booking is confirmed, we create a new plot, characters, motives and clue sequence inspired by that venue. It is performed for that booking only and is not subsequently sold or performed for another hotel.

No. The story is new, but our six-actor dinner format and production method have been refined through more than 1,500 successful events. Each actor undertakes thorough rehearsal before the event, giving you a new story supported by a proven structure and an experienced cast.

Very little. During one focused creative conversation, we agree the atmosphere and any factual venue details that may be used. We then research the property, write the script, create the clues and evidence, rehearse the cast and provide a spoiler-free synopsis for your marketing. To preserve the surprise, the completed script and solution are not submitted to the hotel for approval before the event.

We recommend at least 12 weeks so there is enough time for venue research, writing, production materials and rehearsal. You are welcome to ask about a nearer date, but availability and the creative timetable must be assessed first.

No commission, revenue split or per-head entertainment charge applies. The £2,000 fee does not change according to ticket sales. Once the venue and date have been approved, no mileage or production supplement is added later. Cast hospitality is the separate hotel commitment set out before payment.

Payment starts the creation of your unique script and production materials, secures six professional actors for your date and covers the substantial rehearsal needed for a completely new production. Those commitments begin well before the performance, so payment confirms the full production rather than merely reserving a diary date.

We still perform. Once your event is confirmed, we do not cancel because fewer tickets have sold than expected. We impose no minimum-ticket-sales clause.

In the highly unlikely event that The Murder Society cancels the confirmed performance, the £2,000 fee is refunded in full. The complete provisions are included in the booking contract supplied before payment.

Confirmed bookings are non-refundable because professional actors have been contracted for the date. Under our intended standard terms, the booking may be transferred once to another mutually available date when at least eight weeks' notice is provided. The definitive terms are supplied before payment.

Six professional actors attend, bringing the characters, costumes, clues, evidence and complete production.

Yes. Our actors remain in character and dine during the event, so the hotel supplies each of the six with the same three-course meal being served as part of the evening.

Yes. The hotel provides overnight accommodation and breakfast for the six-person cast. We also require a private changing, rehearsal and breakout area as close to the performance area as possible. All arrangements are agreed before payment.

No. Your hotel sets its prices, markets the evening, manages guest bookings and keeps 100% of the ticket, dining, bar and accommodation revenue.

No. Guests are detectives, not actors. They watch events unfold, question suspects and examine evidence, taking part as much or as little as they wish.

No. Period or themed dress can add to the atmosphere, but it is always optional.

Approximately 50–100 guests is ideal for most events. Tell us about your room and expected numbers and we will advise whether the format is suitable.

No. The production is built around a three-course dinner. We agree the running order and service timings with your team so your kitchen is not asked to hold food for a lengthy scene.

Yes. We arrange a pre-event visit to discuss the room, dinner service, entrances, performer and guest movement, changing facilities and any venue-specific requirements. We also complete an appropriate risk and suitability assessment.

Yes. We carry appropriate event insurance and can supply the relevant evidence directly to your hotel.

Our actors project clearly without amplification, and the scripts are designed to engage the audience while keeping ambient background noise to a minimum so everyone can follow the action. Battery-operated equipment is used only for the welcome and occasional ambient music, so no mains power is normally needed.

Yes. Your spoiler-free title, synopsis and initial marketing information will normally be available within 7 to 10 days of payment. We provide ready-to-use event descriptions, poster artwork, website and ticketing copy, social-media material, suggested posts and approved imagery. Your team adds the hotel's prices and booking details.

Absolutely. Dinner only, dinner and accommodation, upgraded rooms, drinks packages or a full weekend break are all under your control. The hotel sets the prices and retains the revenue.

We discuss the event, check availability and venue suitability, and supply the booking terms. Payment confirms the date and starts the creative process. We then hold the short creative conversation, research and visit the venue, write the mystery, prepare your marketing material and rehearse the production.

Tickets are sold exclusively by the hotel hosting the event. Please book directly with that venue; The Murder Society does not sell public tickets.
